Electric scooters and e-bikes are coming to Lethbridge in April

“We are delighted to have been chosen to supply our electric scooters and bikes to Lethbridge. Electric scooters and e-bikes are really well suited for the city and they will be a great way for locals as well as visitors to travel in a safe, convenient and environmentally friendly way.

Once the service is available, you will be able to download the Neuron E-scooters and E-bikes app on iOS and Android devices and find available vehicles near you.

After scanning the e-scooter or e-bike with your smartphone and completing a brief security check, you are good to go.

The app uses what Neuron calls “Geofencing Control”, a GPS system that controls where vehicles can be driven and parked and how fast they can move in certain areas.

Mayor Blaine Hyggen says he’s delighted to see this service offered to Lethbridge in a way that won’t impact taxes or municipal budgets.

“There are so many positive benefits to this project, including environmental, economic and tourism. With two post-secondary institutions in our community, we hope that our student population and permanent residents will embrace this new initiative so that it can continue to grow in the future.

For a single ride, you would pay $1.15 to unlock the e-scooter or e-bike and 35 cents for every minute until you park it. Passengers will also have the option of purchasing three-day, weekly or monthly passes.
