REI’s new line of e-bikes available exclusively to members through September

SEATTLE (BRAIN) — REI Co-op has developed a line of “lifestyle electric bikes,” and both Co-op Cycles models will be available exclusively to members through September 1.

Members have early access to e1.1 build now and e1.2 build later this summer before both models are available to non-members. The e1.1 and e1.2 generations are one-size-fits-all e-bikes to join the brand’s existing range of electric models, the CTY e2.2 and CTY e2.2. The e1.1 and e1.2 are equipped with front and rear lights as well as memory foam seats.

They also feature 20-inch wheels and a low-step frame. The bikes are equipped with 2.4 Schwalbe Super-Moto-X tires with Double Defense GreenGuard puncture protection, seven-speed Shimano drivetrains, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and Bafang Hub drive motors.

Generation e1.1 ($1,499)

  • Available in Pitch Black, Desert Unset and Saguaro.
